| Customer Reviews: AWESOME August 2, 2010 Caleb Logsdon (United States) This game was awesome. If you are a fan of the Ghostbusters movies this is a must have. Story written by the orignal writers the models look just like the actors who also lend their voices. Graphics were great looked just like the movies effects, even switching the gadgets on you backpack was highly detailed and had different animations. Game play was very fun and challenging at times, but always worth the time. Everything about the game was great, I would say a must buy for the PS3. I was not able to try multiplayer, I don't have the system connected to the internet.
The only complaint I have was that it seemed too short for me; I didn't want it to end.
Awesome game that I put off buying for WAY too long July 28, 2010 mfx3 (Virginia) I really wanted to buy this game when it was released, but didn't because of lukewarm reviews and a somewhat boring demo on PSN. I finally made the leap after the price drop, and WOW! What a game. The story is great. The dialogue is priceless. The gameplay is downright awesome. I really enjoyed the single player campaign, but the true fun is in the multiplayer coop challenges. I didn't even know this game had a multiplayer option when I bought it. Needless to say, I regret not buying this game when it came out. Not a mistake I plan to make again, if they decide to release a sequel.
If you love the movies try the game. July 28, 2010 Brett Peterson (Salt Lake City, Utah United States) I am a ghostbuster fan so the game was made. I tryed it and was impressed. They got all the actors together to do the voices in the game. the game was lots of fun. I finished the game wishing there was more of it, so i guess they did a great job. Only thing I wish they would have done is let you drive Ecto-1.
Great Game, Horrible Glitches (NO SAVE???) July 17, 2010 S. R. Barrera This is a very fun game. The game itself is great. Busting ghost heads is the funnest thing you could do in your spare time. The environments look nice and the gameplay is surprisingly fluid. If you are a fan of the Ghostbusters, this game is a must. Written by the writers of the original movies, Harold Ramis and Dan Akroyd (Egon and Ray themselves), the story is pretty awesome. Many familiar faces show up and you can tell it was very well written, even the ingame comments from the Ghostbusters seem very natural. Much care went into these characters and it really shows.
With that said, the game suffers from a huge problem. Now, there are a few things (poor lip-syncing) that are unfavorable, but I am talking about a serious problem:
YOU CANNOT SAVE- I don't know how common this is, but I found out very early on that there is a glitch in the game that doesn't allow the game to read your save file. I had to play the game all the way through without stopping just to experience the whole game (game takes about 7-8 hrs; Took me about 18, 23 hrs with breaks in between, on Pro and to find all artifacts). I've gone on many posts and it seems that this has happened to many people (though I don't know if it happens to everyone). There are many different posts explaining different ways to fix this problem, though the ones I've tried haven't worked for me. It may be that depending on your hardware and firmware, it may take different solutions to fix this. To date, I don't think Atari has released a patch to correct this issue, and that upsets me very much.
I loved this game. It was, as someone wrote, "a love letter to Ghostbusters fans." I would've given this game a 4 or 5 had it been for the gameplay and experience of the story alone. But this HUGE flaw is very frustrating. Imagine beating the game on Hard, gaining all artifacts and scans and upgrades, then turning your system on and finding that you just have to start all over.
If you are a Ghostbusters fan, this is definitely a MUST. But you should be aware that this bug exists.
About the Twinkie July 11, 2010 jaga828 An amazing game. Great graphics, engaging story. Atari did an outstanding job on this game: from securing the original talent, to the ease of gameplay. I really hope the third film ramps up production soon, however, if more games like this can be done, I say keep the franchise going. I have this for PS2 also and there is so much more to the story in the PS3 version. An extremely rich universe that the game does a good job capturing.
